The Mesmer Express

A mobile setting adventure module for tabletop role playing games

Concept:

The Mesmer Express is a magical train that travels from city to city, carrying wealthy passengers and a few commuters who use the train to get to work. Each car on the train has a different theme, different options available, and different NPCs who may be present. Each stop along the way has different attractions or possible goals. 

● The train is a place of incredible opulence, but a stark reminder of class divides. 

● Adventurers are viewed as dangerous and suspicious. The Civic Patrol will try to stop Adventurers from sneaking onboard to ride from city to city. 

● In this world, the moneyed class has all the power. The system works to serve the wants and whims of those with power. The seeds of revolution have been sown, but the moneyed class may have no idea. 

 ● One of the elites onboard is plotting to take over the train so he can privatize it, fire the train workers, replace them with scab labor, and turn the train into a private pleasure barge.

● One of the other riders wants to take over the train and transform it into a radical workers’ co-op, unsullied by elite cash.

Designed for use with Knights of the Road. You can therefore also use Into the Odd or Electric Bastionland with little to no conversion.
